Suggestion: Colour-code stargates in overview, according to the security status of the system they lead to. Keywords: UI, Overview. Current: Security status of neighbouring systems has to be looked up after each jump.

In terms of storyline what you're proposing sounds a lot like a scan probe, but much much better. How is it balanced, so that it adds something extra, but costs more, or requires more risk from the player who uses it?

In this situation, how about pausing an unfinished skill and being able to switch the time spent so far to another skill? (The time, not the skillpoints). It's still a big change, but it would give a little more flexibility.
